Before starting this course I had no experience with 3d before.
I was looking forward to learn 3d but had an idea that it would be difficult.
In the beginning I found myself struggling with creating proper images and it wasnt until towards the end where I started improving my 3d skills.
When I realized that I would be struggling with my final project I started doing a lot of online tutorials in 3ds max and that has helped me a lot. I feel as my three final images are strong enough to show that I have learned a lot from the beginning.
I have definetely found an interest in doing 3d and will try to continue workin in 3d in the future.

The couch and wooden cabinet are created using simple boolean technigues, both items started out as simple boxes wich i then used boolean to remove and add to it. Dining table in the middle, again very simple modeling techniguesused there.
The materials for most of the furniture is very basic stuff, just default materials from the 3ds maps. However getting the glass table would be tricky.
the diffuse color was deep black. In the maps section i added noise to the reflection and raytrace to refraction, and played around with the numbers to get the correct feel.
The tv created is just made from a simple box with a little indent and extrude. Now i had a saved version where i had put an image of an actual football match on the tv screen, but i have apperantly lost it somewhere. It would not be hard to recreate actually, just a bitmap from photoshop and add it on.
as for the lighting and shadows i got very frustrated. When you look at the dumbbell i created for march, the lighting and rendering didnt cause me any problems. I dont belive i did antything that much differently on this image but for some reason i was not able to get any realistic shadows of the furniture, no matter how hard i tried with lighting and rendering options I am hoping that in the future I will have figured this out.

I started out creating a plane, by selecting its vertex i drew in the river and lowered those vertexes. Using sft selection i then selected a few vertexes here and there to create the bumps in the grass.
After i was satisfied with the ground i put in another plane and lowered it so it would fit as the water in the river. No editing was done to that plane at this time.
Next was to create a half sphere to cover the surface, applied a normal modifier and a uvw modifier with an y axis.
On the sphere i would put a sky material found in 3ds maps, and it would be applied on inside of the sphere to work as the sky. Put a grass material on the ground.
Now began the work on the water in the river.
Simly selected a blinn material, put the color to dark black. Added noise to the bump map and put it to 30, next added a flat mirror for the reflection so the water could reflect its surroundings.
after trying a few different renderings and being satsfied i thought the image needed some depth, so i inserted a few basic trees in the background. Using the sphere it became difficult to create realistic shadows for the trees, that is something i will have to figure out in the future.

To create the dumbbells I just startet out with a box divided in three sections. I made the middle section smaller to duplicate the grip, and using a mesh smooth modifier I managed to create the rounded shape.
Once I got the dumbbell into the shape I wanted all that was left was playing around with materials and lighting.
For the material I chose anisotropic and changed the specular level as I thought needed. Then in the maps I set the bump to a -250 with a metal brush pattern, and also added raytrace to the reflection map and set it to 35.
For the lighting I used an omni light on each side, and put in a skylight. The skylight made a really big difference on the final look.
The flooring is just a plane with a wooden material on it.

The first month I chose was march.
For me march represents my birthday wich is on the 26th, but it also represents a time of bodybuilding competitions wich are most often held around ester.
So when thinking of the month march what comes to mind is standing on stage after months of preperation, weight training and dieting. Wearing posing suits covered in pro tan tanning color.
It may seem different but to me this is what march represents...

Second month was a battle between june and july.
Its the summer time and that is always a favorite. ALong with the many things happening during the summer, this is also the time of major football tournaments to be held. To me summer is a time of sports, and also a time to watch sports. So i chose this football scene for my mood board.

My favorite cartoon character is probably Stewie Griffin, the youngest of the Griffin family on the tv show Family Guy...
